| June -- Daraga,
Albay The Cagsawa ruins in Busay, Daraga, Albay are what remain of what once a place of refuge for Bicolanos residing on the eastern slopes of Mayon Volcano. A devastating eruption of the volcano in 1814 blanketed the town under tons of lava and debris, literally wiping the place and its inhabitants off the map the area. Today, only this church steeple stands as a mute reminder of this disaster. |
